We look forward to welcoming you to the
19th ACI EUROPE Airport Trading Conference and Exhibition - a unique annual forum bringing together key commercial executives and their business partners from retail, food and beverage, travel services, media and telecommunications, car parking and rental and other enterprises from around the world, who are focused on delivering non-aeronautical revenue success at airports.
In the contemporary landscape of the airport industry, commercial revenues have become a vital part of the business - providing passengers with a better experience and more services, while also helping maintain competitiveness and in some cases, even helping to finance expansion.
The pressure for commercial success has never been greater, yet the obstacles to achieving that goal continue to increase. Challenges include increasingly burdensome security regulations, airline single bag carry-on restrictions and recent efforts to outlaw tobacco sales and even potentially restrict the sale of liquor to international travellers.
In order to address these threats we need to work together effectively on our lobbying and communication strategies, and Malta will be THE meeting place to forge our positions and strategies going forward.
To reflect this true spirit of essential collaboration, I am delighted to announce that this event will also be delivered in partnership with ETRC (European Travel Retail Council), which represents the interests of the tax-free, duty-free and travel retail industry in Europe. We have worked together on many key issues in recent years and look forward to taking our working partnership to a new level through this conference.
This unrivalled forum will enable all concerned to share experience and best practice, hear case studies of commercial excellence, as well as gain invaluable insight from outside the industry.
There will also be an enhanced focus on networking; we will facilitate communication between delegates before the event via an easy to use online system, through which meetings can be arranged in a dedicated area at the venue.
Meetings will take place during specific times over the course of the event.
Our host, Malta International Airport, which has recently expanded the size of its commercial offer, will host an outstanding social programme and we hope you will join us for what promises to be a stimulating and engaging forum on one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful and historic islands.
