Our Host
We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Malta International Airport, as the host of this event, who will be offering delegates an exclusive social programme encouraging informal networking on the beautiful island of Malta.
Our hosts: MIA Plc
It is with great pleasure that I have welcomed the idea to host the ACI Europe Airport Trading Conference 2010. MIA is a major stakeholder of the Tourism Industry in Malta which in turn is known to be a prime contributor to the national economy. MIA as the main gateway to the Maltese archipelago is honoured to receive you for this significant event which provides an ideal network for the aviation industry.
MIA has recently unveiled an expansion project directed to intensify its customer service. Its core air terminal operations include enhanced general passenger services, and the operation of an extensive range of retail outlets both airside and landside as well as a variety of F & B outlets. Improvements have not merely embellished the structure of the terminal building but more importantly have enhanced the clients’ comfort and convenience. Besides the new façade that has maintained the indigenous character of Maltese Architecture, the internal structure is now significantly more spacious having been particularly increased by a good 50% on retail space. Moreover in order to compliment the passenger terminal, MIA has just launched another new project on the Airport landside area which will see the completion of a Business Centre by the second half of 2011.
We are confident that we will make of this encounter a most fruitful experience for all our guests. Indeed the hosting of this event is also intended to introduce a novel reception to the Island of Malta which coupled with our people’s hospitality should ensure for everyone a most enjoyable stay.
Julian Jaeger, Chief Executive Officer, MIA plc
